Michael (Mike) Lanigan began his career with Mi-Jack Products in 1973 when he was sent to Indianapolis, Indiana to establish a new Mi-Jack Construction Equipment (C.E.) division. After a successful eight years building Mi-Jack’s C.E. division into the Midwest’s leading Aerial Lift Equipment Distributor with facilities throughout Middle America, he returned to Chicago as Executive Vice President. In 1989 Mike accepted the position of President of Mi-Jack. During his tenure as President, Mike along with his brothers, Jack, Bill and Dan have solidified their core business by entrenching Mi-Jack as America’s premiere rubber tire gantry crane manufacturer and the nations leading supplier of intermodal lift equipment. In addition, Mike has successfully launched Mi-Jack into the international business arena through ventures in Central and South America. Mike resides in New Lenox, Ill. with his wife Mary Kay and has five grown children.

TEAM OWNERSHIP
From 2001-2006, Lanigan co-owned Mi-Jack Conquest Racing with Eric Bachelart. The team competed in the Indy Racing League-sanctioned IndyCar Series in 2001 and 2002 before moving to the Champ Car World Series in 2003. They competed in Champ Car’s top series for four seasons as well as in the Atlantic Series in 2006. Drivers who competed for the team include Justin Wilson, Nelson Philippe, Andrew Ranger and Graham Rahal among others. After selling his interest in Mi-Jack Conquest Racing, he became a partner in Newman/Haas Racing which was renamed Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing prior to the start of the team’s milestone 25th season in 2007. Also in 2007, Lanigan was a partner, along with Mari Hulman-George, in Carl A. Haas Motorsports LLC., competitors in the NASCAR-sanctioned Busch Grand National series.

He promoted Champ Car races in Houston and Cleveland in 2006 and 2007. The 2008 Grand Prix of Houston and Grand Prix of Cleveland events were cancelled after the unification of open wheel racing in February 2008 but Lanigan and Mi-Jack Promotions are working toward having both events added to the 2009 IndyCar Series schedule.
